Ischia in the Bay of Naples is the setting for the protagonist's first holiday in Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan Quartet, one of my favourite series of books. Tourists travel from around the world to its shores, but the island is most beloved by Italians and Napoletans, like my mother. I found my inspiration for this oil painting on which the print is based in a group of Italian women, deep in conversation, while bathing in the warm Mediterranean.
Reproduction of original oil painting printed on recycled matt cocoon paper.
