Duet – South Bank acrobats by Stella Tooth Manuele d’aquino has a dream. He dreams of the day he will leave teaching acrobatics behind to join the circus. A very special circus: the Cirque du soleil. Jonathan Last, his fellow acrobat, has no such desire. Jonathan’s movies for practising daily are purely spiritual. When you come across these two men while strolling through London’s South Bank, you know you have discovered two men who have found their calling. It gives them a sense of weightlessness which, in such extraordinary times, I think we can all aspire to identify with. It’s what I’ve sought to capture in this drawing.
Drawing on cradled gesso panel.
