Robins redbreast, a fixture of woodland, hedges, parks and gardens all year round, is the inspiration for this pencil portrait. These friendly birds snack on insects, worms, fruit and seeds and can be easily tamed as they have never been hunted, flocking around gardeners in search of worms. The association of Robins with Christmas comes from the Victorian Britain era when postmen wore red uniforms, earning the nickname 'Robins'.
