My cousin Marco, along with his fiancee Jennifer, moved to Britain for a short while and I seized the chance to draw them. I was creating a piece for the Lots Road Group of portraitists' exhibition, 'Connected: the changing face of Britain.'
My two subjects - an Italian and an American of Korean descent - posed against the backdrop of their respective flags, united in the UK beneath the Union Jack. Their portrait drawing embodied the message of interconnection in a time of Brexit-induced divide.
Pencil on paper. Framed.
