Invited to participate in Egypt's first art biennale, I met at Sharm el Sheik airport a blushing bride waiting for her groom. I disclosed to her that I was a portrait artist and asked if I could take her photo as inspiration for a painting. She shyly agreed and I had the honour of painting her on her special day, which I set against the backdrop the Egypt I'd glimpsed from the air.
