Dodgy playing at the Half Moon Putney. Art can cheer us up after a bad day, make us remember, or inspire us to do more in life. I hope my portrait of Dodgy – an English rock band who established themselves during the Britpop era of the 1990s – evokes some of those feelings in you. You may never have been to the iconic music venue where I’m Resident Artist, and never heard Dodgy play, but you might recognise in my drawing of them the creative energy of performing live. It’s something we all miss seeing in these extraordinary times, so I hope it provides you with comfort and reminds you of some of the wonderful gigs you have seen.
