Keith Richards is an English musician and songwriter and co-founder, guitarist, secondary vocalist and co-principal songwriter of the Rolling Stones.
The blue and black and white in the background is a nod to the start of Mick Jagger and Richards’ song-writing partnership sparked by a mutual interest in Chess Record stars like Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters and the label’s blue and white logo and its monochrome version.
The artwork is based on a behind the scenes photo by rock photographer Solomon N’Jie taken on 25 June 1982 Wembley Stadium. Sol says: “I always considered Keith as the musical glue that held the stones together on stage and arguably, he also possesses rock's greatest single body of guitar riffs. The painting captures Keith’s trademark guitar pose.”
