Eric Clapton, the subject of this greeting card pack, is an English rock and blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter, widely considered one of the most important and influential guitarists of all time. Clapton, who played the lead guitar in 1968 on George Harrison’s ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’, became infatuated with his close friend Harrison’s wife Pattie Boyd. When she, at first, spurned his advances he co-wrote ‘Layla’, inspired by Clapton's reading of the classic Persian unrequited love story, the epic poem Layla and Manjun.
