Andy Fairweather Low is a Welsh guitarist and singer. He was a founding member of 1960s pop band Amen Corner, which had four top-ten hits, including their No.1 single, 'If Paradise is Half as Nice,' whose lyrics I feature in my portrait.

In the late 70s and 80s, Low was the session guitarist of choice for Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Elton John, and many other high-profile artists. In recent years, he has toured with Eric Clapton, Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings, and Roger Walters. I caught him at the Half Moon Putney in 2022.

Oil on cradled gesso panel strung.
