The Rawhides are a Blues Brothers tribute band that I caught at The Hideaway, Streatham. They create the look and sound of the blues and soul revivalist band founded by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. Their name recalls my favourite moment in the Blues Brothers film where the band performs 'Rawhide' in a local country bar to calm the audience…
Sleep once eluded my great niece Daisy so my sister would get her in the mood for sleep by reading her books by her favourite author Julia Donaldson. The scene in this portrait plays out in homes all over the country. And I hope you recognise yourself, your children or grandchildren in this representational drawing of the common endeavour of reading.
