When I saw Jonathan Last and Manuele d’Aquino taking turns to balance on their hands in the square behind the Oxo Tower on London’s South Bank, I proposed an artistic collaboration. I asked if they would balance together, making negative shapes with their legs that would make an interesting drawing. They hadn’t thought of choreographing their movements in this way before but liked the idea and enthusiastically obliged!
