Double portrait: Denise and Alex Zimbardi

Denise and Alex are my brother and sister-in-law and this painting was a gift I painted for them as a wedding present.  Denise sent me a selection of images to choose from.  I selected this one due to the intimacy of their pose - two people who had been fortunate enough to find supportive soul mates, some years after their first marriages had ended. 

I also couldn’t resist the dance of lines in the original picture from the stripes of their t shirts to the brick wall behind.
