My drawing of Allium on Putney High Street!
Stella Tooth's Allium featuring on lamppost in Putney High Street for Framed
‘Framed’ is a Wandsworth Arts project that turns the borough's high streets into exhibitions of "colourful, intriguing, and striking art" by local artists - to welcome residents back.
I'm thrilled my drawing of Allium has been selected to be part of the outdoor exhibition of 130 artworks on the borough's lamp posts.
Wandsworth Art says on its website, "Centred around the themes of new beginnings and positivity, ‘Framed:’ celebrates the rich diversity of our local arts scene."
Allium is a genus of monocotyledonous flowering plants that includes garlic and chives. The spherical flowers demand attention. Here I have reimagined them red, rather than the usual mauve.
